Zepto Cafe, the 10-minute food delivery service of quick commerce unicorn Zepto, has reached a daily order volume of 100,000, according to the company's co-founder and CEO, Aadit Palicha.
This accomplishment comes nearly two weeks after surpassing the 75,000 daily order mark.
Palicha stated on LinkedIn that the gross merchandise value (GMV) is expected to reach $100 million for the year. The Zepto Café app was released in December 2024.
"Zepto Café has reached 100,000 orders per day. That is approaching a $100 million annualized GMV run rate with a steady-state gross margin of nearly 50%," Palicha wrote on the professional networking platform.
Despite being a newcomer, Zepto Café's current size is more than 10% that of some of India's largest quick service restaurant (QSR) chains. "I believe this is the beginning of a revolution in India's QSR industry," said Singh.
When Zepto Café launched as a separate app in December 2024, it received 30,000 orders per day. However, in January 2025, daily orders surpassed 50,000, representing a 60 percent month-on-month increase. Later, in the first 10 days of February, the company averaged 75,000 orders per day, representing a 50% month-on-month increase.
As quick food delivery gains traction, rivals such as Zomato-backed Blinkit's Bistro and Swiggy's Bolt are also expanding. Swiggy's management stated in its shareholder letter for the third quarter of fiscal year 2024-2025 that the Bolt service accounts for 9% of the company's food delivery volumes, up 5% from November last year. The Bolt service was launched in October 2024.
Magicpin, a hyperlocal e-commerce platform, currently processes nearly 10% of all food delivery orders through its quick food delivery arm, MagicNOW. "We discovered that customers who order through MagicNOW are more satisfied, so they repeat more frequently," said Anshoo Sharma, the company's co-founder and CEO.
