Independent verification platform You Care Lifestyle (YCL) raised $1 million in a funding round co-led by Luke Coutinho and Narendra Firodia, who are both also co-founders of the firm.
The funds will also be utilized to enhance verification and authentication of products through strengthened processes, invest and support burgeoning clean brands in order to scale and build consumer trust, YCL indicated in a press release.
Launched this year, You Care Lifestyle is a standalone verification body in the wellness and health sector. The firm authenticates the quality, purity, and safety of goods and services in diversified categories like groceries, food, nutraceuticals, beauty and personal care products, pathology labs, and other lifestyle offerings.
The Mumbai headquartered startup intends to develop a reliable third-party verification platform, solves key problems such as mislabelling and misinformation and promotes a behaviour change towards an informed consumer choice. YCL intends to empower brands to prioritize health-conscious products and hold the highest quality standards and consumers to prioritize health-conscious choices and motivate them towards making choices of genuine products.
YCL aims to diversify the company's portfolio and will onboard brands. The company will seek to test and validate around 90-100 brands in food and cosmetic categories by the end of 2025.
The company asserts that It has partnered with 37 products and of those, 24 have been successfully tested in third-party laboratory testing, and 18 products are now on the site. These products will carry the unique 'Pink Tiger Stamp' an independent verification symbol that denotes both approval and the quality control of the ingredients following extensive testing.
YCL is dedicated to closing the gap between trust and consumer authenticity through establishing a stringent and trustworthy third-party verification process. The platform aims to identify and invest in companies that resonate with a vision of integrity, transparency, and consumer health.
