Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL), a Vedanta Group company, announced on Monday that it contributed INR 13,195 crore to the exchequer in the previous fiscal year. This accounted for almost 46 percent of its total sales.
Hindustan Zinc's overall contribution to the exchequer in fiscal year 2023-24 was INR 13,195 crore, according to a regulatory filing by the Vedanta group. With this, HZL's total contribution to the exchequer over the last five years stands at INR 77,803 crore. "As our businesses expand, so will these figures. At Hindustan Zinc, we are dedicated to continue doing business with a purpose in a way that is sustainable, transparent, and provides value for all of our stakeholders,” explained Agarwal Hebbar, Chairperson, Hindustan Zinc.

Over the last five years, that corporation has continuously given an average of Rs 3,250 crore per year to Rajasthan through royalties, donations to the District Mineral Foundation (DMF), and other taxes.
