Uber has launched its loyalty program, 'Uber One,' in India, with users able to choose from monthly and annual options.
According to Uber, the subscription service costs Rs 149 per month and Rs 1,499 for a yearly plan. However, certain users are eligible for savings of up to 50% off the monthly plan.
As part of the reward program, Uber is providing up to 10% off ride-hailing services for four-wheelers, three-wheelers, and two-wheelers, as well as parcel delivery. These credits, similar to cashback, can be exchanged for future rides.
The loyalty program also prioritizes support for Uber One users. Additionally, the company is providing a complimentary three-month subscription to Zomato's reward program, Gold.
Uber reported having 25 million Uber One subscribers worldwide as of September this year. The company claims that Uber One users spend three times as much as non-members and have superior retention rates. Membership has increased by 70% year on year.
Uber faces direct competition in India from developing platforms such as Rapido, which is supported by WestBridge Capital, and Namma Yatri, backed by Google.
