In today's Indian markets, precious metals displayed conflicting patterns. On Thursday, July 4, silver prices saw a decline, while gold was trading higher on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX).
Gold futures, which mature on August 5, 2024, were up just Rs 71, or 0.10 percent, to Rs 72,474 per 10 grams. At Rs 72,403, the previous closing was noted.
Silver futures, which are due on September 5, 2024, saw a decline of Rs 186, or 0.20 percent, and were trading on the MCX at Rs 91,835 per kg, down from the previous close of Rs 92,021.
PRICES OF GOLD AND SILVER IN MAJOR CITIES
Silver costs Rs 91,600 per kilogram in New Delhi, while gold costs Rs 6,649 for 10 grams weighing 22 carats. The price of gold is Rs 6,634 for 10 grams in Mumbai and Kolkata, while the price of silver is Rs 91,600 per kilogram in both cities. In Chennai, on the other hand, silver costs Rs 96,100 per kilogram, while gold costs a little more at Rs 6,696 for 10 grams.
