Shaktikanta Das, Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), has been hospitalized to a hospital in Chennai. According to reports citing a source, he was admitted because of acidity.
A Reserve Bank of India official stated, "Reserve Bank of India Governor Shri Shaktikanta Das experienced acidity and was admitted to Apollo Hospital, Chennai for observation."
He is now doing well and will be discharged in two to three hours. There is no reason to be concerned, according to the RBI spokesperson.
Although it is a common condition that can be managed with lifestyle modifications and over-the-counter medications, severe or ongoing cases may necessitate hospitalization.
Although mild acidity is usually safe, severe or recurrent episodes should not be disregarded. Early medical advice and lifestyle modifications, such as avoiding trigger foods, managing stress, and maintaining a healthy weight, may prevent problems and reduce the frequency of hospital visits.
Unlike cardiac-related chest pain, acidity-related discomfort does not spread to the arms, neck, or jaw. It usually improves after taking antacids or sitting straight. However, it might be difficult to distinguish between acidity and heart-related disorders; therefore, chronic or severe chest pain should be evaluated by a doctor.
