On the first day of the Budget session, President Droupadi Murmu spoke to the joint session of Parliament on Friday and honored the country's constitutional designers.
Here are some key points from the president's speech:
1. Farmers received Rs 41,000 crore under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi.
2. The government's One Nation, One Election and Waqf Bill are significant reforms.
3. My government has given special attention to youth education and the development of new job opportunities for them.

5. My government is dedicated to helping the middle class realize their dream of owning a home.
6. My government has lifted 25 crore people out of extreme poverty.

10. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana expansion to give three crore more families new homes. The government has set aside Rs. 5.36 lakh for this.
11. The "Dharti Aba Janjati Gram Utkarsh" campaign was launched for five crore tribal members. For it, an 80,000 crore budget has been set aside.
12. Six crore senior citizens who are 70 years of age or older will receive health insurance under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. An annual health insurance coverage of Rs. 5 lakh will be offered to senior citizens.
During her speech, some of the government's few flagship programs that the president mentioned included Awas Yojana, Swamitva Cards, PM KISAN, Ayushman Bharat, MUDRA Yojana, PM Vidya Lakshmi Yojana, E-Gram Swaraj Yojana, Vande Bharat, One Nation and One Election, Viksit Bharat, PM Ujwala Yojana, Saubhagya Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Unified Pension Scheme, RERA, UDAAN, and Jan Aushadi Kendra.
She further stated that the 'Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan' was initiated by my government for five crore tribal members. She further noted that the pace of work in the third term of government is three times faster than in the preceding ones. 'One Nation, One Election' and the Waqf Amendment Bill are two initiatives the government has taken.
