Microsoft has announced a significant $3.3 billion investment that it hopes to democratize artificial intelligence (AI) in Wisconsin, USA. With this investment, we hope to improve AI and cloud infrastructure, start up large-scale training programs, and create an AI co-innovation lab with an emphasis on manufacturing.
The CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, emphasized the company's dedication to democratizing AI in order to boost economic growth in the US and other countries. "Our goal is to democratize AI in order to contribute to the development of new economic opportunities and growth globally, especially in the US. Because of this, we're thrilled to announce today a $3.3 billion investment in Wisconsin that will include talent development, cloud and AI infrastructure, and an AI co-innovation center with an emphasis on manufacturing," said Nadella.
Microsoft President and Vice Chair Brad Smith described the investment's emphasis on utilizing cutting-edge AI and training initiatives. Smith, who is originally from Wisconsin, asserted that the project will have an effect on other states as well because a significant amount of equipment will be bought there.
Smith stated, "I became aware of Wisconsin's rich and legendary history of manufacturing invention and inventiveness as a child growing up there. With its $3.3 billion investment, Microsoft will leverage its resources, size, and expertise to leverage the most cutting-edge AI available today, along with the necessary skill training to effectively employ it.
