Professional social networking platform Medial has raised USD 500K in a funding round led by Ortella Global Capital (OG Capital), a fund founded by Rajvardhan Mohite and Sayan Ghosh, a former IFC officer. Medial is among the few firms to have raised two fundraising rounds in 2024. The Bengaluru-based company raised USD 120,000 in January during its pre-seed round, which was headed by FirstCheque VC.
According to Medial, the new funds will be utilized to build an integrated professional ecosystem focused on meaningful interactions, career advancement, and relevant content for the worldwide startup and tech communities.
Niket Raj Dwivedi, Aishwarya Raj Pandey, Prateek Kaien, and Harsh Dwivedi founded and lead Medial, a content and community-driven platform with a thriving community in tech, product, and UI/UX. It acts as a platform for startup news, industry updates, banter, and guidance in a non-clickbaity manner, adding value to its community and facilitating transparent and inclusive workplace talks.
Medial began as an integrated platform for startup professionals and aims to expand into a job board and company profile with global reach. According to the startup, the app will foster a community of product managers, UI/UX designers, product analysts, venture capitalists, business analysts, and aspiring entrepreneurs.
It promises to have a community of 100,000 entrepreneurs, startup enthusiasts, techies, and investors, as well as over 10,000 daily Active Users, within a few months after its initial debut.
Medial is a professional network that, like LinkedIn and GitHub, uses actual names while simultaneously providing an anonymous component to enhance the site. It competes, directly or indirectly, with Grapevine, Hood (previously Zorro), and, to a lesser extent, Fishbowl, Blind, and Reddit.
