A new "ultimate 5G upgrade voucher" from Reliance Jio, which costs Rs 601, provides unlimited 5G internet for a year. Users on the Rs 299 prepaid plan, which comes with 1.5GB of data per day, are the target audience for this campaign. Even customers without a 5G plan can enjoy inexpensive, unlimited 5G connectivity with this coupon.
This action comes after Jio raised the eligibility criteria for unlimited 5G service on July 3, 2024, through a pricing adjustment. In the past, customers could utilize any plan costing Rs 239 or more to activate Jio's Welcome Offer. Following the hike, plans with 2GB or more of data per day, like the Rs 349 plan, were the only ones eligible for limitless 5G perks.
The new upgrade plans, which were introduced in July, enable consumers on non-5G plans to access limitless 5G. These are booster packs for Rs 51, 101, and 151. Each package includes additional 4G data and unrestricted 5G access. For example, the Rs 51 plan contains 3GB of 4G data, the Rs 101 plan has 6GB, and the Rs 151 plan has 9GB.
Jio is promoting the Rs 601 voucher on its MyJio app as a "gift" for uninterrupted connectivity. Users can buy and activate it immediately from the app. However, the offer is only available to individuals on the Rs 299 plan or higher.
Jio has also released inexpensive standalone data-only plans. The new Rs 11 package, which includes 10GB of data for one hour, is the cheapest in the portfolio. It joins other alternatives priced at Rs 49, Rs 175, Rs 219, Rs 289, and Rs 359, all of which exclude voice and SMS services.
Jio is making 5G access more inexpensive by delivering true unlimited upgrade plans and standalone data alternatives, while also providing users with the freedom to improve their connectivity without incurring major costs.
