Hydrogen Mem-Tech, a Hydrogen separation technology startup, has secured a strategic investment. This funding round was co-led by Peak Sustainability Ventures and London-based P Ventures. With this investment, it has granted Peak a 10.5% ownership stake; thereby positioning them as a vital partner in Hydrogen Mem-Tech’s global expansion. Currently, the start is on a mission to advance sustainable energy solutions. Furthermore, the Norway-based Hydrogen Mem-Tech is supported by some of the prominent climate investors which include Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures, Shell Ventures, Yara Growth Ventures, and SINTEF.
As per the press release, this funds will be utilized to upscale operations while developing a new hydrogen separation unit with five times the current capacity. Furthermore, the investment is also aimed at accelerating green hydrogen production globally, with an emphasis on making the technology feasible for India’s energy sector.
It is also worthy to note that Hydrogen Mem-Tech aims to drive the green transition with its state-of-the-art hydrogen separation technology which is integrated with carbon capture. Palladium Separators, which is the company's flagship product, is a patented technology that converts bio- and natural gasses into pure hydrogen. With this, it caters to various applications, including fuel cells for vehicles and industrial processes. Additionally, this technology will also enable the separation and purification of ultra-pure hydrogen for use in fuel cells in vehicles, heavy trucks, buses, trains, and ships.
As per a credible report, Samir Shah will join Hydrogen Mem-Tech’s board of directors.
Another offering of the company is a membrane-based separation technology that provides an efficient solution for extracting hydrogen from various gas streams and green ammonia applications; thereby offering significant cost and efficiency advantages. Hydrogen Mem-Tech has also highlighted that its innovation will contribute substantially to further drive global sustainability goals.
If we speak of Peak Sustainability Ventures, it is a well known sustainability-focused venture capital fund, aimed at supporting breakthrough innovations in sectors that include new energy, water, food systems, and climate tech.
