Hemal Jain, Zomato's global finance head, has resigned from her job to pursue other possibilities. The company disclosed this change in a BSE filing on December 16 as the resignation of a senior personnel management member.
She served the company for almost six years, spearheading as the global head of finance and CFO of Hyperpure. Jain was an intergral part of Zomato's core team and contributed significantly to the company's acquisition of Blinkit. Jain was also part of the senior management team that oversaw Zomato's public offering.
“I have had the privilege of being part of the Zomato journey and the dynamic team for over the past six years. However, after much reflection, I have taken the tough decision to move on and explore a different path, “ Jain stated in her resignation letter.
On her LinkedIn profile, Jain noted that she had led business finance for both Zomato and Blinkit and had been instrumental in driving initiatives aimed at cost optimisation and improving profitability.
Jain's exit comes just after Zomato received a GST demand notice for Rs 830 crore.
Another senior Zomato executive, Akriti Chopra, who served as Co-Founder and Chief People Officer, resigned a few months ago.
