Hindustan Construction Company Ltd, in collaboration with Tata Projects Ltd, has received a Rs 2,191 crore contract from the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MPMRCL).
The Rs 2,191-crore contract is for the construction of an 8.65-kilometer corridor for MPMRCL, which will include underground tunnels and stations, according to a company statement.
HCC has a 55 percent stake in the joint venture.
According to the statement, package IN-05R is the first and only underground segment of the Indore Metro Phase 1 project, which spans 31.32 kilometers.
The package includes the construction of an 11.32-kilometer-long tunnel by tunnel boring machine (TBM) and seven underground stations at Indore Railway Station, Rajwada, Chota Ganpati, Bada Ganpati, Ramchandra Nagar, BSF/Kalani Nagar, and Airport, which will connect a ramp east of Indore Railway Station to a ramp west of Airport Station, the statement said.
HCC is currently working on the Mumbai Metro Line III, which will include 4 kilometers of twin tunnels and four stations, as well as two Chennai Metro packages.
Hindustan Construction Company Limited's shares were last trading at Rs. 22.61 on the BSE, down from the previous close of Rs. 23.08. The total number of shares traded during the day was 2198342, with over 4752 trades.
The stock reached an intraday high of Rs. 23.53 and an intraday low of Rs. 22.50. The net turnover for the day was Rs 50465458.00.
