The finance ministry has requested expenditure proposals for the second and final batch of supplementary demands for grants for FY25 from various ministries, to be presented during the ongoing Budget session.
As per an office memorandum, ministries must submit their proposals by February 12.
Eligible cases for inclusion under these demands include those where advances from the Contingency Fund have been approved.
Additionally, payments related to court decrees will be included, along with cases where the finance ministry has specifically instructed ministries to propose supplementary demands during the ongoing Budget session, it added.
The proposals for supplementary demands for grants should be made within the Revised Estimate 2024-25 ceiling, following a detailed and objective assessment of the additional fund requirements, according to the memorandum dated February 3.
"While processing proposals for supplementary grants, the grant controlling authority must invariably identify savings within the grant so that the infructuous or inflated supplementary demands are weeded out and the eventuality of surrender after obtaining the supplementary grant is avoided," it said.
