The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) announced in a series of posts on X that it has begun paying claims to departing members at the most recent interest rate of 8.25 percent annually. "EPFO has commenced the annual settlement of claims at a rate of 8.25 percent. According to the pension manager, the interest rate is determined by taking into account the revenue from EPFO's debt and equity investments.
According to the statement, all current EPF members will also get the interest credit that was authorized by the Finance Ministry in May of this year after being suggested by the Central Board of Trustees in February 2024.

The EPFO stated in February that 8.25% of its approximately 29 million overall subscribers—of which about 6.8 crore are active, contributing members—will receive this amount in the financial year 2023–2024. Through a number of channels, including the Umang App, the EPF website, the SMS service, and the missed call service, members of the EPF may verify whether or not their interest has been credited.
How to use SMS to check your EPF Balance
Open a message on your phone, then write 'EPFOHO', your UAN number, and the first three characters of the language you want to use.
For example, enter 'ENG' for English.
Send your message to 7738299899.
You must send the message from the cellphone number associated with your UAN.If you send an SMS from another phone, the EPFO will not show your PF balance.
How to Check EPF via Missed Call
Make a missed call to 9966044425 using your registered mobile phone.
After making a missed call, you will receive an SMS containing your PF information.

How to check EPF on the UMANG app.
Download the UMANG App from the Play Store or the Apple App Store.
Open the app and choose your language.
Register with your cellphone number.
Select EPFO from the list of possibilities displayed on your mobile phone.
Choose 'View Passbook' and enter your UAN.
You will receive a one-time password (OTP).
To log in, enter the OTP.
Select the firm for which you wish to examine and download the EPF passbook.
The passbook will be displayed on screen.
