Adani Group Chairperson Gautam Adani announced a Rs 50,000 crore investment in Assam at the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit in Guwahati. Speaking at the summit on Tuesday, Adani highlighted the revolutionary influence of these investor conferences over the previous 20 years, saying they had outperformed their initial goals and been crucial in driving India's growth.
At the conference, Mukesh Ambani also announced to invest Rs 50,000 crore in Assam.
"In the past two decades, these investor summits have far exceeded their original ambitions. They have become catalysts for transformative change, attracting billions of dollars in investments and foundationally driving your vision of a Viksit Bharat," Adani said.
Adani made the statement a day after the Madhya Pradesh Global Investors Summit in Bhopal, where he announced a Rs 2.1 trillion investment in Madhya Pradesh. With a possibility to create more than 100,000 jobs, this investment will be focused on a number of areas, such as a coal gasification project, an airport project, and a greenfield smart city. Discussions about more funding for the state are still going on.
Adani appreciated the leadership and commitment to social reforms of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
"Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, every time I meet you, I leave inspired. I have known no recent first-time Chief Minister who has ignited such hope and then transformed that hope into action and remarkable progress," Adani said.
