Adani Wilmar Ltd has begun operations at its food processing plant in Sonepat, Haryana, which was established with a nearly Rs 1,300 crore investment.
Adani Wilmar announced in a regulatory filing on Thursday that operations have begun at its integrated food processing plant in Gohana, District Sonepat.
"This food complex is one of the largest in the country built with a capital outlay of Rs 1,298 crore coming from IPO proceeds," according to the business.
The plant is going to generate 2,000 direct and indirect jobs in Haryana.
The facility, which occupies 85 acres, can produce 6.27 lakh tonnes annually. In addition to producing 2 lakh tonnes of edible oils, such as mustard oil, rice bran oil, and cottonseed oil, and Mustard DOC and Ricebran DOC for animal feed, the plant will produce 4,50,000 tonnes of food products, such as rice, wheat flour, suji, rawa, and maida.
Moreover, the business conglomerate Adani Group announced last month that it was leaving Adani Wilmar, which produces wheat flour, cooking oil, and other food items under the Fortune brand.
Adani Wilmar is one of the few large FMCG food companies in India that provides most of the essential kitchen commodities to Indian consumers, such as edible oil, wheat flour, rice, pulses, and sugar. Its products are sold under a variety of brands and at a wide range of prices, catering to a variety of customer groups.
